Harnessing cognitive load theory to create the memory lite classroom

This presentation uses cognitive load theory to minimise issues around poor working memory to ensure that, when learners “struggle it is because they genuinely cannot do “it”, not because they have forgotten next steps. Evidence validate approaches to defeat the forgetting curve will be presented together with a range of strategies that empower teachers to help individuals without always needing to give individual help.
